VW Beetle 1600CC Engine Rebuild Kit 87mm Pistons with Big Valve Heads
Need to build a reliable engine for your VW beetle, dune buggy, sand rail, bus, Type 3 or Karmann Ghia on a budget? This is the top end kit for you. The Dune Buggy Warehouse DriverPak engine top end kit gives you everything you need to rebuild the top end of your Dual Port 1600cc Volkswagen Type 1 Engine and turn it into a 1641cc. Our kit includes new larger 87mm pistons and cylinders, aftermarket big valve cylinder heads, a German Elring gasket set and stock steel pushrod tubes. These 87mm will slip right into your stock 1600cc case with no machining required. These pistons are cast and feature high quality ring sets.
The cylinders are proven heavy duty cast iron. We offer an upgraded aftermarket cylinder head with larger stainless steel valves. The valves are 40mm on the intake and 35mm on the exhaust side. This unit features chromoly keepers and retainers and stainless steel valves.
Combustion chambers are 53 cubic centimeters. They require aftermarket style 12mm 3/4 reach spark plugs (We recommend Bosch 7700 or NGK 4339). We recommend using valve lash caps when using stainless steel valves. Our upgraded cylinder heads feature great air flow through the head for great cooling performance and include extra material around the exhaust ports for those interested in DIY stage-1 porting.
